Russia’s Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Mikhail Men, Director General of Russian Housing Development Foundation Alexander Braverman, and an executive from REED MIDEM, the organizer of the exhibition, attended the official opening ceremony of RHDF’s exhibition stand.
RHDF’s exhibition stand was visited by more than 30 companies from 12 countries, particularly, from France, Turkey, Germany, the UK, Japan, Sweden, the U.S., Switzerland, Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, etc.
RHDF’s representatives made presentations of land plots with a total area of more than 2,000 hectares planned for auctions to be held by the Foundation in Q2-Q3 2015 and explained the benefits of implementing construction projects in the Russian Federation in cooperation with the Foundation.
Meetings and conversations conducted by RHDF demonstrated that foreign companies are interested in land development projects, primarily residential housing, also investors express their intentions in establishing enterprises involved in building materials production, setting up trade facilities, and development of technological clusters on land plots provided by the RHDF.
During MIPIM 2015 exhibition, Russian Housing Development Foundation and Turkey’s foreign trade, consulting and investment company Orteksan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Orteksan’s Managing Partner Berksan Buyukyildiz commented on the MOU signing: “As many as 3,000 Turkish companies run operations in the Russian Federation. Currently calculated at ten billion US Dollars, Turkey’s investments in Russia are increasing annually and we’re convinced that this figure will double in the near future. Signing the MOU with RHDF will help us achieve this goal.” In addition, Memorandum of Understanding was signed between RHDF and the Russian representative office of an international manufacturing and trade company which runs major chains selling furniture and household goods. “The main goal of RHDF is to promote housing construction. However, we are also focusing on projects of integrated development, including projects on the construction of commercial real estate, such as retail stores,” said General Director of Russian Housing Development Foundation Alexander Braverman.
Representatives of Russian Housing Development Foundation participated in business events as part of MIPIM 2015 official program: a round table organized by RBC “Real Estate in Russia 2015: opportunities and areas of growth,” a breakout session “Integrated development of territories: advantages for the city and businesses” which was held at St. Petersburg’s stand.
Russian Housing Development Foundation (RHDF) was established in accordance with the Federal law No. 161-FZ “On Facilitation of Housing Construction” dated July 24, 2008.
The mission of RHDF is to create a favorable environment for people by facilitating:
· the development of housing construction, including economy-class housing;
· the development of transport and engineering infrastructure, and social infrastructure facilities;
· manufacturing of building materials, products, and structures for housing construction;
· the creation of industrial parks, technology parks, and business incubators;
· other ways of territorial development.
Integrated development of RHDF’s land plots in 2010-2015 has made it possible to build 4.098m square meters of housing in 16 Russian regions. Currently, a total of 29.832m sq. meters of housing are being developed or are in planning and design stages on the land plots provided by RHDF. A total of 38 projects on building facilities for manufacturing energy-efficient and environmentally friendly construction materials are being actively developed in 15 Russian regions.
